During the session “Contractors and the Oilfield Services Sector” at the Sakhalin Oil & Gas Conference, Andrey Timin, General Director of Morneftegazproject, presented the examples of the positive effects of production activity supervision in the oil and gas industry.

As Andrey Timin told the participants of the session, the production activity supervision is carried out by the engineering company to ensure that the facility meets the approved documentation and justifies the admissibility or inadmissibility of deviations from it. During the operational phase, this is critically important element of control that ensures project integrity and increase safety. The production activity supervision also includes an analysis of the possibilities of optimizing the facility technical characteristics, aligning its rough spots, recommendations for improving the current status, minimizing unplanned shutdowns and reducing operating costs.

As part of the field design engineering and technical re-equipment of the Prirazlomnaya platform - the first Russian oil production project on the Arctic shelf –Morneftegazproekt exactly carried out the whole scope of expert and advisory work.

Last year, Morneftegazproject joined the Shelf Projects Development Block of Gazprom Neft. The company was entrusted with the functions of technical competencies center. At the moment, Morneftegazproject is performing research and development for shelf investment projects, including at the Kheysovskiy license block and the Dolginskoye field. The plans include further continuation of work on the Prirazlomnoye project, as well as conceptual solutions, front end engineering design, research and development for other Gazprom Neft shelf projects.

“The production supervision activities are very important,” - Andrey Timin emphasized during his speech. - “These measures reduce the risk of financial losses associated with unscheduled shutdowns, accident elimination, reduce oil and gas facilities operating costs and maintain or enhance the level of unconstrained hydrocarbon production”.
