Gazprom Neft elaborated on its proposals on attracting investments for oil projects in Sakhalin

September 25, 2019

Gazprom Neft, during the session  “At the Leading Edge: Russian Sakhalin and the Far East projects update 2019” at the Sakhalin Oil & Gas Conference, elaborated on the first stage of creating a new oil-producing cluster for the company. Denis Krylov, General Director of Gazpromneft Sakhalin, told the participants of the session about the progress in Sea of Okhotsk and the company's initiatives to create a congenial investment climate.

He noted that the discovery of two large oil fields Neptune and Triton in the Ayashsky license block made the Far East a new strategic region on the map of Gazprom Neft's assets. At the same time, for the successful exploitation of such giant and technologically-difficult fields, it is necessary to create a congenial investment climate, which will also enhance economic efficiency of project implementation for the company itself.

The transfer of the Sea of Okhotsk southern part to the fourth complexity category may become one of the possible initiatives directed at increasing the attractiveness of projects implemented on the Sakhalin shelf. It will intensify its development, create economic inducement to attract potential partners, and will promote the use of innovative technological solutions, the introduction of which is a locomotive for the development of related industries and the social and economic growth of the region.

Gazprom Neft already makes a significant contribution to the social and economic development of the region. Recently, as part of the «Native Towns» social investment program activities, the company supported projects to equip Sakhalin island's sports facilities and a number of educational initiatives.

“Gazpromneft-Sakhalin’s competence portfolio includes the application of the best Russian and international practices, the accumulated experience in well construction in the Arctic region, as well as the use of advanced, innovative technologies that allow us to complete the tasks on time and without incident,” Denis Krylov said. - “We are confident that the development of the Neptune and Triton fields will open significant prospects for the development of the Sakhalin island's infrastructure and, in general, for the social and economic growth in the region”.
